Job Description
The Civic Guest House is seeking interest in a Full Time Manager. The Hostel caters to International tourists and Australian Travellers'. The Hostel Manager will be required to LIVE ON SITE and manage the day to day operations of the 78 bed facility. This position is for a contracted period as a full time position.
Ideally, the suitable applicant will have:

- Minimum three years in a similar role is desirable.
- A friendly, positive attitude is a must.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to enforce hostel policy.
- The ability to solve problems and handle pressure situations
- Have abundant travel experience in Hostels
- Be available and flexible to work various shifts including early mornings, late evenings and on weekends.

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Directing and overseeing reservation, reception, and housekeeping activities.
- Recruiting, training and supervising reception, grounds and housekeeping staff.
- Supervising security arrangements including night security, premises security and personal safety arrangements for guests and staff.
- Supervising garden and property improvements and maintenance as required.
- Planning and supervising hostel functions.
- Observing relevant legislation and regulations.
- Recruiting, training and supervising staff.
- Ensuring compliance with Workplace health and safety legislation.
- Handling customer complaints and queries in a professional manner.
- Promoting and Marketing the business positively.

Renumeration is in accordance with Hospitality Award - $27.00 - $29.99/hour.
