Aquatic Adventures Facilitator

We're looking for applicants with flexible schedules; our opening and closing hours vary between 7am-7pm on weekdays and weekends. You will be scheduled to work and must be available to take on any hours within these times.

ROLE PURPOSE:
Working as an Aquatic Adventures Facilitator at Manly Kayak Centre is the perfect position for someone who loves the water and being outdoors. At times, our Manly Kayak Centre wharf can be extremely busy with a lot going on, all crew members must be able to multitask and work efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Safety on the water is our number one priority and as an Aquatic Adventures Facilitator, you will fulfil an integral position at Manly Kayak Centre. In this role, you will work the deck as well as the water, directly interact with a wide range of customers from general hire customers to large school groups and corporate bookings to intimate proposal picnics. You will be performing deck, boat, kayak and SUP work and will be responsible for leading rewarding, safe, educational and fun aquatic activities for people of many backgrounds and experience levels. We expect our Aquatic Adventure Facilitators to be confident on the water, strong leaders, knowledgeable in water safety and aquatic instruction and clear communicators.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Meeting and greeting customers
- Customer check-in and payment processing
- Deliver clear safety and area briefings
- Choosing appropriate life-jackets and ensuring correct fitting
- Issuing directions for loading, unloading, and seating on kayaks, stand up paddleboards and boats
- Provide engaging experiences for a range of customers including; school groups, one-on-one
experiences and large corporate bookings
- With the Head of Operations plan lesson structures and tour routes that suit on water conditions as
well as the abilities and expectations of the group
- Deliver tours and lessons to Manly Kayak Centre and SUPBALL customers according to Manly Kayak
Centre standards
- Ensure that waivers and other safety documentation are signed and filed according to set processes
- With the Head of Operations discuss monitoring the weather, and wind and how they affect our
customers and ongoing activities
- With the Operations Manager discuss potential risks to customer safety and arrange and implement
solutions
- Follow safety and maintenance procedures to ensure the protection of customers, staff and equipment
Direct safety operations in emergency situations
- Adhere to NSW Maritime and Manly Kayak Centre regulations
- Completing equipment checks for all Manly Kayak Centre equipment and inform your Operations
Manager of any required repairs
- Completing cleaning and maintenance of all Manly Kayak Centre equipment
- Assist in social media and digital advertising posts
- Ensure that other reasonable duties and or projects are completed upon request

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Boat Licence & Boat Experience
- Prior Instructor Experience
- Prior Kayak and SUP Experience is preferred, but not essential
- Working With Children Check
