Mechanic- Fixed Term Contract

Stop dreaming and have your sea change! Tangalooma Island Resort, located on Moreton Island, is one of the most respected Island Resorts on the Eastern Seaboard of Australia.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanic to join our organisation on a fixed term contract for 4-5 months over our summer season.

Working in our Workshop, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all resort vehicles and power generation. Candidates should have excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills. They must be hard working team players and have a “Hands on” approach to work.

As a successful candidate you will possess the following:

A MR and HR license or equivalent
Be trade qualified with appropriate relevant experience in servicing both passenger and heavy vehicles
Be committed to safety
Strong attention to detail
Carry out required tasks and maintenance in a timely and effective manner
The ability to work unsupervised at times
Supply your own tools
The right candidate will have a proven track record working with Diesel engines. Previous experience with buses is preferred.

An immediate start is required. The position will be casual role on a fixed term contract approximately 4-5 months. This will be confirmed at an interview stage. An extension, and ongoing career development opportunities maybe offered to the right candidate.

This is a live-in position for a fixed term with accommodation and all meals provided (board charge applies) and the opportunity to grow within our organisation.

Own transportation is not required as you will be living on resort premises on Moreton Island.
