The Opportunity

This is a permanent night shift position with shift penalties applied. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is for a trade qualified fitter with strong industry experience and a broad range of mechanical fitting based in the country town of Harvey, Western Australia. Our Maintenance and reliability team ensures the availability of plant and equipment to support the production/manufacturing function.

Key Responsibilities

- Troubleshooting equipment related process problems and equipment failures to determine cause and to investigate repairs.
- Drive ongoing and preventative maintenance programs.
- Record accurate data for analysis on equipment.
- Support Engineering and Production personnel on continuous improvements and monitor equipment in order to recommend process improvements.
- Testing of equipment and recording equipment data.
- Supervise TA’s and contract staff in line with company standards e.g. Health and Safety.
- Ensure that the workshop is maintained in a clean and safe condition.
- Ensure that the Team’s tools and equipment are maintained in a clean, complete and safe condition.
- Clean and lubricate assembled articles
- Manufacture, repair and fault-find hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
- Operate powered machines that may be manually, or computer controlled
- Erect machinery and equipment on site
- Inspect machinery regularly and make any adjustments or repairs needed by removing any worn or damaged parts to install replacements, by sending a damaged part to the machine shop for repair or by doing the repair work themselves.

Selection Criteria

- Mechanical Trade Certificate is Essential
- Experience with Hydraulic and pneumatics would be highly regarded
- Exposure to food processing systems, especially within the red meat Industry is advantageous
- Exposure to Vacuum Packaging equipment desirable
- Understanding of OHS practices and compliance and confined space requirements
- Stainless steel fabrication and installation
