Role
Our client is looking for an individual who can cuts, shape and fit timber parts in workshops to form structures and fittings which are then ready for installation.
This position will need an individual who construct, erect, install, renovate, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials, and cut, shape and fit timber parts to form structures and fittings according to client needs and wants.
Applicants must have the ability to work well under pressure and time constraints, with knowledge of different materials and equipment, communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently with flexible approaches to client demands
The role is in NSW, Australia.
Duties
• Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures for specific jobs and designs
• Ordering and selecting quality timbers and materials in sufficient amount to adequate prepare layouts.
• Cutting materials and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts in a safe and organised manner.
• Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness and foundations of structures
• Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install
• Being able to cut wood joints
• May repair existing fittings and may construct concrete formwork
• May work with a variety of different materials such as plastic laminates, perspex and metals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Relevant qualifications required however, 3 years of relevant experience may substitute for the qualifications;
- Have at least 3 years of experience as a Joiner;
- Being physically healthy and fit to undertake tasks of hard labour at times;
- Ensure quality results are ensured and presented to clients for their satisfaction;
- Have experience in upholding the proper health and safety requirements in the workplace;
- Have experience in studying the current situation in the industry to ensure the business is working in accordance with the demands of the market and with the demands of clients;
- Working with different types of machinery and materials is encouraged;

Mandatory Skills Assessment Requirement
This position also requires skills to be assessed by the Trades Recognition Australia (TRA). You must be eligible for the Migration Skills Assessment under the TRA by having a qualification such as a Certificate III in Joinery or comparable formal training. You must also possess skills that are current to Australian industry standards demonstrated by 12 months full time employment or equivalent part-time in the occupation in the previous three years.
