Fruit Packer

Make no bones about it packing fruit is hard work with long hours. It won't suit some and you'll need to be fit and robust to succeed. But there's the potential to earn good money and based in the Central Highlands you aren't far from Carnarvon Gorge, Lake Maraboon and the fossicking of the Gemfields. Emerald itself is a busy little town with more facilities than you might normally expect, including some really good pubs and restaurants, botanical gardens, swimming pools and cinema.

We are a fruit packing business that requires up to a hundred staff to fulfil our requirements for the 2022 citrus season. You will be paid as a casual employee as per Superior Production and Prestige Packing Multi-Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2014-2018 (Agreement).

This position is physically demanding and mainly includes sorting and grading fruit and stacking cartons on the box-line (up to 20kgs). Other duties may include pre-packs, auto-packers, floor-general, container-loading, receivals, despatch or any other general packinghouse duties designated by a supervisor/leading hand, throughout a shift. You will be paid $25.83 per hour of work according to Level1 of the EBA.

You will need to pass a packing induction and recruitment criteria/conditions such as manual handling assessment. Our season runs from April through to October. Weather conditions and fruit maturity influences the availability of work. You will be required for early morning starts and for weekend work. Own transport required. You will need to provide Right to Work Documentation and a Photo ID before being considered for employment. We are hiring NOW!
