One Farm Hand - 1 position - full time hours available

We are a family owned business located 15km from Grenfell NSW. We are 2.5 hours from Canberra and 4.5 hours from Sydney - perfect if you also want to explore the city on your weekends off.

We operate a mixed farming/ dry land operation (sheep, crops).

We are seeking a farm hand to work with us during the pre -sowing and sowing season from 5 March 2025. Are are seeking someone interested and able to commit for a minimum 4 months, with opportunity to work longer.

Ideally you would have had some previous experience working on a sheep farm/ mixed cropping farm.
However if you are a quick/willing learner, have strong attention to detail/ situational awareness and mechanically minded you can pick most of the skills up. Trustworthy, strong work ethic and reliability a must. Strong communication ( following verbal or written instructions, keeping the owner informed) will be critical as you will be part of a small team and we value working efficiently. Once trained you will have your own duties to complete independently, and will need to be able to motivate yourself to achieve goals set.

Predominant work will be taking responsibility for feeding/ moving livestock; supporting sowing processes, machinery operations (tractors/ feed carts) and, fencing and/or building maintenance as required.
a) your will need to learn how to drive farm machinery ( tractors, feed carts, 4wd, manual utes)
b) you will need to learn about livestock management (Moving sheep, feeding, drenching, drafting, marking or similar)
c) you will need to learn processes to support sowing (filling seed carts, fueling , moving equipment)
