Builder/carpenter/handyman

CARPENTER/BUILDE/HANDYMAN. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS POSITION IS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL 1 March 2025. My wonderful backpacker is leaving and I am seeking a special person with a variety of skills to help me out on my little farm which is run on permaculture lines. Minimum of 35 hours per week. Hours can be flexible. Excellent wage negotiable depending on skills. Position available until 1 30 June 2025. Free accommodation in a comfortable caravan. No WiFi but good Internet reception. Electricity and water included. Because I am in a bushfire declared zone, this job qualifies for 2nd and 3rd year visa. Non smoker only and must be fluent in spoken English. You will need an ABN, police check (if foreign it needs to be translated) that is not more than three years old, proof of permission to work (ie visa), 100 points of ID (eg passport, driver's license, credit card or bank statement) and public liability and preferably personal insurance. I am in receipt of a government package and you will be paid by my Provider. They require these documents. Jobs are varied but include carpentry/building, painting, gardening/weeding, fixing things including small motors, cleaning including cleaning windows and gutters, and providing social support. Lots of variety and no two days will be the same. I'd prefer a qualified carpenter but at the very least someone who can build things, eg bookcase. I have all the tools you are likely to need and if I don't have something you need I can get it. One of the jobs will be fitting out a Tiny Home on Wheels which I hope to use as a caretaker's cottage which has been gutted and waterproofed. Basic plumbing skills would be useful. I have horses and someone experienced with horses would be a bonus because I do need to get my confidence back. None of my horses are suitable for beginner or intermediate riders. A good sense of humour is a must. You also need to be patient, intelligent and kind and love animals. I am Spiritual but not religious. Preference will be given to a vegetarian or vegan as I have been a vegetarian for my entire adult life. It is isolated here so having your own transport is essential. There are lots of beautiful places to discover. The beach is close but too far to walk. Would suit someone who wants a good break from society and to be immersed in Nature. This part of the world is Australia's best kept secret. The beaches are as good as any in the world. The Snowy River is at the end of the road and the mountains and lakes are close. It's peaceful and serene and the weather is good this time of the year. I have a huge spring fed dam you can swim in. My property is a haven for native birds and wildlife. I am a very well travelled woman born and raised in Melbourne. I like being around people who are intelligent, honest, calm, patient, easy going and who enjoy a good laugh. I am also deeply concerned with social affairs. My favourite artist is Prince and I'm also a big fan of Bob Marley. Looking forward to hearing from you.
