Job Description
Disaster Recovery Army Incorporated is a charity serving a purpose of helping people and communities with relief and recovery after a disaster (fire, flood, storm, for example).
Right now we're focused on the Grampians region of Victoria where extensive bushfires raged over the Christmas and New Year period.
We invite backpackers who are seeking roles that will help them meet the 88 days required for visa extension.
There are a mix of roles and you may be involved with any of the following:
- kitchen/cooking
- cleaning
- debris removal/yard and farm clear ups
- garden work
- fencing
- repairs
- tree removal
- helping farmers with their property and animal needs
and other roles.
We have a base camp where we operate from and where we provide meals to all volunteers, have a daily safety meeting, and which has plenty of space for tents, caravans, vans and cars.
This is a great opportunity to meet and help people, and experience Australia in a different way. And it counts to your 88 days'.
