Salary: $65,000-$74,000 per annum

Our unique farm in Gobur, VIC, supplies our kitchen with organic fruit, meat and vegetables. Key Responsibilities

As the Production Horticulture Supervisor, your role will include:
• Manage the daily operations.
• Liaise with the Managing Director as well as external partners and suppliers.
• Ensure that scheduled crops are ready for harvest and have passed the withholding period.
• Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of all specialised harvest equipment.
• Manage the harvest process, adjusting for crop conditions, soil moisture, and variety to minimize mechanical damage.
• Collaborate with the Farm Operations Manager, Shed Production Manager, and Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate activities and resolve issues.
• Oversee the quality of the harvest throughout the harvesting period to minimize any damage.
• Identify and report any signs of unusual disease or plant pests, and take appropriate action.
• Safely transport and store chemicals according to regulations and safety standards.
• Prepare and apply chemicals for pest, weed, and disease control in compliance with best practices.
• Implement a post-harvest program to ensure the quality and longevity of harvested crops.
• Establish and manage horticultural crops, ensuring all stages of growth meet production standards.
• Carry out emergency disease or pest control procedures as necessary, ensuring immediate action on infected premises.
• Operate and maintain chemical application machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
• Coordinate work site activities to optimize productivity and safety.
• Perform shed nursery activities to support crop growth and development
• Regulate crop conditions, monitoring environmental factors and ensuring optimal growth
Qualifications and Skills

• Relevant AQF Certificate III or Certificate IV and previous relevant experience in the same or similar position (essential)
• Proven experience in horticulture or farming, ideally in organic or sustainable farming
• Strong knowledge of crop cultivation, animal husbandry, and farm management practices
• Experience with organic farming techniques and sustainability principles
• Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team in farm operations
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Strong communication skills and a passion for working with fresh, local produce
• A love for food and a deep understanding of how high-quality ingredients contribute to exceptional dining experiences
