Job Description
We are currently looking for an All Rounder (FOH, housekeeper, Bottle shop). Limited help in other departments may also be required. We are also looking for a Duty Manager for our bar – please see a separate advert.
What we offer:

– Hourly Rate: Hospitality Level 2 (Casual, penalty rates apply)
– Visa Renewal (counts for 88 days)

What we’re looking for:
– A hands on person, team player
– WA RSA holder
– ALL ROUNDER – you will be working in all the departments mentioned

Derby – please do your research into the location.
• IT IS HOT with temperatures reaching up to 40C. We are currently in Wet Season (late December to March), wet season features hot, humid days and nights and erratic downpours.
• IT IS REMOTE there is Greyhound bus to Broome however, the town is small and quiet.
• CRIME is not extremely high (in comparison with other remote regions of Australia) and consist mainly of petty theft. This is something you come across in most places eligible for your 88 days.
• WE ARE NOT ON THE COAST. Derby has high tights of up to 13 metres. There is no beach or sea in the town. There is sea 2,5km from town however, the water is rather muddy and not suitable for swimming.
Work Challenges
• Housekeeping – it is hot. Please be aware and take this into consideration when applying for jobs. Whilst not unusual for Australia, it is different from housekeeping in your home environment.
• RSA – must be adhered to. If you do not feel comfortable cutting people off, please do not apply. Serving alcohol in Australia is different to your home country, especially in remote regions.
We are providing you with this information so you can make a fully informed decision. As mentioned previously, these are the challenges you will be facing in majority of regions qualifying for 88 days. Please, don’t be scared, it is not all just hard. Derby is a friendly little town, and we try to make sure our staff is happy and well looked after.
**We provide free accommodation (single donga style rooms with shared bathroom block) as well as meals for free. The Spini is a great place to get your 88 days done and save a decent amount of money if you are willing to push through some challenges arising from the location.

The Spinifex is an iconic hotel in the Kimberley. The “Spini” is a jewel in the crown of WA’s top end.
The Hotel provides guests with a range of facilities including a full bar, restaurant, and TAB, plus brand new motel style accommodation, swimming pool, BBQ’s, and a conference room.
