Nomads Sydney, a vibrant 500-bed backpacker's hostel in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, connected to the legendary Scary Canary Bar, is on the hunt for a high-energy, big-personality Team Leader! We're looking for someone with the energy, dynamism, and confidence to lead by example, infusing the hostel with excitement and positivity. Your team will look to you to set the tone – and our guests will remember you as the heart of their Nomads Sydney experience!
On top of your charisma and warmth, you’ll need solid hospitality experience, especially in Front Office operations, as well as the skills to manage, train, and inspire a team. Organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences are key.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee weekend operations at Nomads Sydney, covering for the accommodation manager as needed
Greet and engage guests, ensuring a high-energy, welcoming atmosphere
Maintain hostel standards and uphold high morale among guests and staff
Train, mentor, and lead the front desk team
Handle rosters, daily reports, banking, and collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance
Actively promote additional services such as travel, F&B, and events, enhancing the guest experience
We’re Looking for Someone Who Has:
A passion for the backpacking industry and travel
An outgoing, approachable personality with exceptional customer service skills
Strong leadership and team motivation abilities
Organizational prowess and excellent time management
A strong sense of business acumen, accountability, and financial responsibility
Knowledge of auditing, cashiering procedures, and, ideally, experience with the MEWS Front Office System
