Domestic/allrounder

We have one vacant position as a domestic/allrounder on our family owned cattle station near Julia Creek, Qld.

The role is predominantly cooking - morning tea and the evening meal for 5 adults and 2 children. I provide recipes and guidance, but some basic knowledge and an enjoyment of cooking is required.

Watering and mowing grass with a ride-on mower are also a significant part of the role as well as watering, weeding and mulching garden beds.

Housekeeping - kitchen clean up, cleaning floors, bathrooms, laundry.

Supervising children - our children complete their schooling at home and while I supervise most of this, there are days when I work away from the house and you would be required to supervise them, keep them safe and occupied and ensure they get to their online school lessons.

Other than that, duties are as required - feeding chickens and horses, possibly painting fences etc.

On the station, we currently employ 2 station hands. We all get along well and enjoy a good laugh so a sense of humour is an advantage!

Accommodation is a modern 2 bedroom air-conditioned, fully self-contained house. Free wi-fi is available.

Hours of work are 38 per week (paid fortnightly). Pay is according to the Pastoral Award, Farm & Livestock Hand level 1.
Accommodation, electricity and staple foods are supplied with a Board & Keep pay deduction of to contribute to the cost of this. We try not to work on weekends if possible! Some days may be long hours when I am out working, but I give time off in lieu to balance this out.

The position will last up until shortly before Christmas. There is the opportunity for more work next year after the wet season break if that is of interest.
