Builder/carpenter/handyman

Corringle Cottage Newmerella, Gippsland

Job Description

I am seeking a special person with a variety of skills to help me out on my little farm. Minimum of 35 hours per week. Hours can be flexible. Excellent wage negotiable depending on skills. Minimum stay 1 month but position available until July 2025. Free accommodation in a comfortable caravan. No WiFi but good Internet reception.

MUST be fluent in spoken English. You will need an ABN, police check that is not more than three years old, proof of permission to work in Australia, 100 points of ID and public liability and preferably personal insurance.

Jobs are varied but include carpentry/building, painting, gardening, cleaning up my property in readiness for the fire season, digging, fencing, fixing things including small motors, and sorting out my garage which is a mess, cleaning and providing social support. Lots of variety and no two days will be the same.

Must be hard working, reliable and honest. I have all the tools you are likely to need and if I don't have something you need I can get it. One of the jobs will be fitting out a caretaker's cottage. Basic plumbing skills would be useful.

I have horses and someone experienced with horses would be great but it's not a priority at this stage. None of my horses are suitable for beginner or intermediate riders.

Must be patient with a good sense of humour. I am Spiritual but not religious. Preference will be given to a vegetarian or vegan as I have been a vegetarian for my entire adult life.

It is isolated here so you will need your own transport. There are lots of beautiful places to discover. The beach is close but too far to walk. Would suit someone who wants a good break from society and to be immersed in Nature. This part of the world is Australia's best kept secret. The beaches are as good as any in the world. The Snowy River is at the end of the road and the mountains and lakes are close. It's peaceful and serene and the weather is good this time of the year. I have a huge spring fed dam you can swim in. It's a haven for native birds and wildlife.

I am a very well travelled woman born and raised in Melbourne. I like being around calm, patient, easy going people.

No hard drugs allowed on my property. I don't drink or smoke and would prefer non smoker and drinker. Definitely no Zionists or their supporters.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Let me know what experience you have and a little about yourself. Excellent opportunity for the right person.
