Dairy Farm Hand

Immediate start available for a period of 4 weeks. Further work could be available.

We are looking for a motivated individual or couple with a "can do" attitude to help us on our farm. You would be required to be a general all rounder and work in our 380 cow dairy. Duties would predominantly include milking cows, feeding calves, yard cleaning and maintenance. There are a lot of different things happening on the farm, so you would need to work efficiently, be job proud, have good attention to detail, think on your feet and problem solve, be strong and resilient, and don't mind getting dirty, wet or covered in cow poo!

Early morning starts at 4.30am would be required as well as working some weekends. 3-4 days off a fortnight. Min 6hrs per day over two shifts one in the morning and the other in the afternoon starting 3.30pm. Shared accommodation in farm house with other helpers is available for $150/week includes rent, power and wifi. The pay is based on the pastoral award casual rate and is based on experience. For example farm hand level 1 (minimal experience) is $29.33/hr plus super. Minimum commitment of 3 months would be preferred.

You must have empathy towards animals, work efficiently, show initiative and ability to think on your feet. A willingness to undertake physical work is required. Your own vehicle is a must as you will be required to drive to work (5min from house). It is necessary that you can speak and communicate in English. Previous dairy farm experience, tractor or work with animals would be an advantage.

The farm is located in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, 1hr from the beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast.
