Experience Required: AQF Certificate III and 2 years experience or 3 years may substitute
for formal qualification.

Job Tasks and Duties:
• Conform to general workplace safety
• Supervise and compile on-site WHS documentation (Prestart, Toolbox talks, SDS, SWMs and task observations).
• Study and understand drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedure.
• Ordering and selecting timbers and materials for layouts.
• Cutting materials, assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts.
• Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
• Carry out general demolition of minor building structures.
• Install flooring systems.
• Construct and erect wall frames.
• Construct eaves.
• Construct, assemble and install timber external stairs.
• Install exterior cladding.
• Apply basic levelling procedures.
• Carry out measurements and calculations.
• Identify construction work hazards and select risk control strategies.
• Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes.
• Help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes.
• Inspect and replace damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures.
• Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers.
• Multilingual and able to build good working relationships with the international workforce.
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
• Capable to operate tools, machines and other equipment.
• Able to install joinery items to a good standard (kitchens, storage units, doors, skirting).
• Identify discrepancies in construction documentation compared to on-site conditions.
• Carry out site inspections and complete onsite maintenance.
• Close out defects list and quality control.
A team player with good communication skills is essential.
Right to work in Australia is essential.
