Builder/handyman

I am seeking a special person with a variety of skills to help me out on my little chemical free farm. Minimum of 20 hours per week. Hours can be flexible. Wage negotiable depending on skills.

Free accommodation in a comfortable caravan. No WiFi but good Internet reception. Electricity and water included.
My property is off grid. I have my own water, solar panels etc.

You would have to buy and cook your own food. Happy to cook and share the occasional meal but I tend to snack. I'm a long term vegetarian and preference will be given to a vegetarian or vegan. I think a deep love and respect of animals puts us on the same page.

MUST be fluent in spoken English.

Jobs are varied but include carpentry/building as I am needing someone to fit out a tiny house to be used as a caretaker's cottage, painting, gardening, cleaning up my property in readiness for the fire season, digging, fencing, fixing things including small motors, and sorting out my garage which is a mess.

Must be hard working, reliable and honest. If you can't build a shed with recycled materials on your own then you are not what an Australian calls a handyman so I need someone who can at the very least build a shed on their own using recycled material. I am trying to make it clear what I need so that I don't get any more applications from totally unsuitable candidates. You don't have to be a builder by trade so long as you can do building and carpentry. I have all the tools you are likely to need and if I don't have something you need I can get it. In Australia what we call a handyman can build a house from the ground up.

I have horses and someone experienced with horses would be great but it's not a priority at this stage. However I have an assortment of beautiful horses and a couple that love to be brushed and spoiled. So unlimited free horse therapy included if required. None of my horses are suitable for beginner riders. I would consider a couple if the young lady is a very experienced horse rider.

It is isolated here so it would help if you had your own transport. There are lots of beautiful places to discover. The beach is close but too far to walk.

Must be patient with a good sense of humor and a lover of animals and Nature. I am Spiritual but not religious.

Would suit someone who wants a good break from society and to be immersed in Nature. Perfect for a creative person because it's a special place. A Healing place. Everyone that has stayed here tells me they have never slept so well in their lives.

There is so much wildlife here. It really is Australia's best kept secret. The beaches are as good as any in the world. The Snowy River is at the end of the road. Lakes, mountains, national parks, kangaroos, kookaburras and bandicoots here. You might even see wombats, emus, echidnas and goannas in the Forest which is at the end of the road. And too many birds to mention. It's peaceful and serene and the weather is good this time of the year. I have a huge dam you can swim in.

Minimum stay of 1 month. You will need an ABN, police check that is not more than three years old, proof of permission to work, 100 points of ID, public liability insurance. This is because you will be paid from a government package that I receive as a Senior. You will be paid weekly.

I am a very well traveled woman born and raised in Melbourne. I like being around calm, easy going people.

Non smoker only. Definitely no drugs allowed on my property. I don't drink and would prefer non drinker.
