Job Description
Blooming Country is a commercial cut flower farm in Guises Range, near Jindabyne.
We are seeking a Farm Assistant with garden or horticulture experience or a strong interest in this kind of role.
The job involves working at our commercial flower farm growing cut flower crops for our boutique wholesale business.
•Outdoor labour with undercover work when planting or working in grow tunnels.
•Full-time or permanent part-time with school friendly hours as required.
•Horticulture or related certification will be highly regarded.
Start in February 2025.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
•Flower crop work including planting, pruning & weeding, harvesting as required.
•Grow tunnel repair and maintenance.
•Tractor work using various implements and attachments.
•Treatment of weeds and pests under supervision if required.
What you'll need to be successful:
•A confident positive attitude
•Initiative and self-motivation
•Be punctual, reliable, and presentable (workplace uniform & PPE provided)
•Ability to work unsupervised
•Strong attention to detail
•A valid driver’s licence a must
Enjoy Australia's Snowy Mountains in summer and fall! This is an opportunity for either 2nd or 3rd year visa. For the right person, we may be able to assist with permanent residency and visa.
Wages:
We pay according to your level of experience and age, based on the Horticulture Award.
For the right person, we will support on-the job training or support towards certification in horticulture.
