Chef Advertisement – Earth Walker & Co

Located in the Sea side town of Coledale, just one hour south of Sydney, we are a bustling Café for locals and tourists alike for breakfast and lunch. And beginning in July we will be open as a Restaurant on Thursday, Friday and Saturday Nights.

The Role
We are currently looking for an exceptional, dynamic & passionate Chef

• Casual rotating roster up to 40 hours per week depending on your availability and business requirements.

One weekend day required and flexibility is a must.

We are preparing to open with an Open Fire and looking for a Chef who is passionate in cooking over fire, who can add to our Team.

You should have a minimum of 3 - 5 years experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing for service, consisting but not limited to; ensuring the kitchen is well stocked and organised with the necessary ingredients as well as cleaning, curing and marinating food ensuring in minimal waste.
• A creative flair with extensive food knowledge and passion for quality and a high attention to detail.
• Cooking and serving food, while coordinating with other kitchen staff and wait staff
• Developing current menu and creation of new menu and dishes (new menu
seasonally)
• Work alongside a group of Chefs, Cooks and Kitchen Hands. We will not tolerate a
poor attitude or an unwillingness to work as a team.

Experience and skills required:
• Previous experience in a café or restaurant a must. Producing high quality, superbly presented meals, Bagels, Salads and Baked items.
• Skilled in executing functions, catering types of service
• Confident and able to interact with customers
• Ability to work alone as well as a part of a team
• The ability to manage inventory in your section. Advising business owner when your
stocks are low and required to be ordered to maintain stock levels adequately.
• Good planning skills / the ability to think for yourself and see the bigger picture of
what the business needs
• Excellent communication skills, organisational abilities and time management
• Necessary trade qualifications
