Are you ready for a unique experience on the stunning Magnetic Island? Our family of four is looking for our first au pair to join us and become a part of our adventures, starting as soon as possible and preferably staying for a minimum of 2 months.

About Us and Our Amazing Location:

☀️ We live on a beautiful, rainforest property in the tranquil Nelly Bay on Magnetic Island, surrounded by breathtaking national park, with vibrant local wildlife and pristine beaches at our doorstep.

☀️ Us adults (mum and dad) both work from home but sometimes one of us will have to travel for work.

☀️ Our 7-year-old boy is at the school just down the road, while our 4-year-old girl goes to the local kindy and daycare. Our loyal 11-year-old brown Labrador is everybody’s best friend.

☀️ Enjoy your own spacious and private accommodation in a separate house, featuring a bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, living room, and a private balcony. Rest assured, your personal space will remain undisturbed on your days off! High-speed Wi-Fi and modern amenities are all included.

☀️ Located off the coast of Townsville on the Great Barrier Reef in Far North Queensland, Magnetic Island boasts over 320 days of sunshine. With more than half the island designated as National Park, there are endless trails and pristine beaches waiting to be explored.

☀️ The island is only a quick 25-minute ferry ride to Townsville, a bustling city offering shopping centers, cinemas, and language schools if you’re interested in classes. We are just a short walk or bike ride from the Ferry Terminal.

Your Role:

✨ Your main responsibility will be caring for our 7-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl after school on weekdays and some weekends (with some weekends completely off). Engage them in fun activities, teach them your language, enjoy playtime, and explore the beach together!

✨ A driver’s license and experience driving on the left-hand side of the road are essential for helping with school runs and activities.

✨ Your typical schedule starts around 1:30 pm and wraps up by 7:30 pm. Evenings are generally your own unless Mum and Dad have plans. You’ll prepare meals for the kids on your working days and cook dinner for the family once a week.

✨ We provide a clear schedule so you know exactly when your help is needed and when you have free time. We respect that being an au pair doesn’t mean being on-call 24/7. However, we do appreciate flexibility and adaptability for those occasional last-minute changes, especially if the kids are unwell. We’re also accommodating if you need specific days off for special events.

✨ Light housework is part of the role, as a contributing adult member of our household. Tasks include unstacking the dishwasher, washing and folding clothes, tidying the kitchen, assisting with dinner cleanup, vacuuming, mopping, and helping with meal prep.

Who We’re Looking For:

? You adore spending time with young children (ages 7 and 4) and can cater to their needs with full attention.

? You’re curious, joyful, sensible, patient, and enjoy staying active and being outdoors.

? You’re reliable and trustworthy.

? You’re proactive and actively engage with the children, sharing your culture/language, broadening their horizons, and fostering their curiosity.

? You’re a reasonably fluent English speaker and can communicate effectively with our family.

Essential Requirements:

✅ Driver’s license with experience driving on the left-hand side of the road

✅ Genuine love for kids and a willingness to actively engage with our children—not just supervise!

Preferred/Bonuses:
