About Us: Nomads Sydney is a vibrant social hostel located in the heart of Sydney's Central Business District, just a short walk from Town Hall Station and Darling Harbour. With a 24-hour reception and 500 beds, we are one of the most popular youth accommodation providers for international guests in the city. At the center of our vibrant community is our bar, The Scary Canary, where nightly events help foster an environment perfect for socializing and making new friends, especially for solo travelers.

Role Overview: We need a vibrant individual to serve as the face of our business. As a Night Auditor, you will be in charge of the security and safety of our guests while also taking on administrative duties and setting up each day for success—all while providing excellent customer service throughout the night. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of our guests and ensuring a smooth operation during night hours.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Greet and check-in guests arriving during the overnight shift with a warm smile, and perhaps even a high-five!
Process reservations and payments accurately.
Provide exceptional customer service and build rapport with guests.
Work proactively and use initiative to address guest needs and inquiries.
Auditing and Reconciliation:

Accurately reconcile daily financial transactions and prepare end-of-day reports.
Ensure all financial records are kept in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Process payments and settle accounts with accuracy.
Security and Safety:

Conduct regular security checks throughout the hostel to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
Monitor security cameras and ensure the safety of guests and property.
Respond to and manage any security incidents or emergencies promptly and effectively.
Operational Duties:

Maintain cleanliness and organization at the reception desk and lobby area.
Perform administrative tasks and prepare reports as required.
Assist with various operational tasks to support the day-to-day running of the hostel.
Requirements:

Be able to build a rapport with guests.
Demonstrate dynamism, confidence, and enthusiasm.
Excellent customer service and guest relations skills.
Proactive and able to use initiative.
Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Have previous experience in managing conflict and customer service.
Exceptional communication skills, both with guests and internally with the team and management for efficient reporting.
Be proficient in the use of Word and Excel.
Ability to work unsupervised and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Shift Details:

Night shifts: 11pm - 7am.
Standard overnight rates and loading for these times applies.
