Short Order Cook/ Prep Chef

Join the passionate team at Café Ruhe, located in the Gulf of Carpentaria! Café Ruhe is seeking experienced Chefs & Short-order cooks for an immediate start!

This position is a live-in, and FIFO will not be considered.

Café Ruhe is an established Cafe in Alyangula, of Groote Eylandt, Northern Territory, providing a diverse range of food, beverage, and retail 16 hours/day, seven days/week. We envision Café Ruhe as a place for family and friends to conjure as we believe life is genuinely gracious when connecting with those around us.

What we need:

Café Ruhe is seeking experienced Chefs & Short-order cooks for an immediate start! We seek motivated, passionate, and committed individuals or couples.

We need candidates with experience in preparing and cooking essential cafe-style foods who possess strong prep skills and an impeccable work ethic.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and create a variety of salads,
Prepare and create a variety of wraps, sandwiches,
Chop, peel, blend, slice, and portion vegetables,
Cut, wash, tenderise, portion, and marinate meat.
Prepare all sections for service, ensuring ample stock and prep
Be able to cook basic breakfast, lunch, and dinner Al Carte items.
Assist in fulfilling catering orders
Assist in maintaining stock levels and cleanliness within the kitchen.
Uphold and maintain all company policy and procedure.
Liaise with the Executive Chef to perform any other duties
Primary Skills, Qualities, and Experience

Passionate. Committed.
Possess Integrity and Pride in the quality of work.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Excellent communication skills.
The ability to multitask.
Ability to work effectively within a team or autonomously.
Experience with remote work or an understanding of remote work
