As a traveller, what is the most fun you can have in Sydney, whilst working over the summer school holidays?
Living and Working in Sydney
Let’s be honest, Sydney is not the cheapest place to spend your days lazing on Bondi Beach and eating out at hipster burger joints in Potts Point. So you need options; be a barista at a café in Ultimo? Start your waitressing career at a beach side restaurant in Manly? Or work in your favourite retail shop in the QVB? All of these are viable options to help you and earn a living whilst living in sunny, sexy, Sydney. But none of these things would compare to the experience of working at a famous Australian theme park at Milson’s Point, under the Northern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
If you are fun, friendly, reliable, creative, and outgoing, you are going to LOVE working at LUNA PARK!
What kind of positions are available?
Sydney’s Luna Park have many different assignments, depending on your interests and skills, but you don’t have to have any previous theme park experience, just a little gumption and a great sense of fun. You can become anything from a ticket seller, to a cashier or food cook. Become a Park Host to welcome the guests, or Sideshow Spruiker where you can interact with the hundreds of people who come to see entertainment at Sideshow Alley. Merchandising hosts, fairy floss maker, hot dog seller, and of course – ride operators!! The list goes on, and you can be involved.
Perks are in abundance. Apart from your wicked Sydney location and how awesome you will look to your friends when they see your Instagram photos of you having fun at a theme park every day, employees are able to go on any ride within the park for free! Plus you’ll get 40% off food, beverages and merchandise.
How do I apply?
Luna Park Sydney is now taking registrations to meet you. They hold an audition day where anyone who is able to work legally in Australia can attend. Yes, it’s called an audition but you don’t have to be an actor or a performer to come along. This format is just great way to be able to meet potential candidates in a group environment. The interviews are held in two rounds, one group round and one solo. Be sure to bring your personality, as this is one of the most important things when you are working at theme park.
Luna Park in Sydney has been around since 1935 and is practically an Australian historical institution! They want to meet the real, fun and enthusiastic, energetic, happy and friendly, employable you. So go get ‘em tigers!
